My journey as a Police Officer begins several years ago. I was single, working midnights in Brooklyn and getting lots of overtime. It was great, no worries!
Then I became a Wife and Mom. As a Mom, you naturally put the needs of your family before your own. As a working Mom, you try to find a balance between the two worlds; your career and taking care of the family. As a Cop-Mom you pray for Jesus to take the wheel. Unpredictable work schedule and long hours leave me with a constant struggle to balance work and family time.
As the first Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) in my family, I didn’t have any guidelines or role models on how to make it all work. After trial and error and incorporating the motto “it takes a village to raise a child” I think I now have a better grasp on my career and family with a lot less chaos.
Follow my journey as I try my best at navigating my career as a Police Officer, marriage to a Police Officer and Motherhood in the big city I call home.
And yes I love doughnuts. I’ll share all the good spots!
